PT and PTA Student Scholarship Purpose
Purpose:
To reward students who are pursuing a professional career in physical therapy. It is required that applicants are APTA student members and are students in a program in Indiana.
Award Criteria:
It is required that applicants are APTA Student Members.
Awardees will be selected on the basis of:
- Academic and clinical achievement in the PT or PTA programs
- Community and professional service activities
- Past achievements
- Essay response

PT Student Scholarship
APTA Indiana is pleased to provide one $1,000 PT Student Scholarship for attendance at an APTA/APTA Indiana-sponsored conference/event (CSM, APTA Indiana Fall Conference or Student Conclave) for a PT Student Member who attends an Indiana educational program.
A one-page minimum write-up describing your experience at the conference may be requested for Chapter publication.

Jennifer Grillo Memorial PTA Student Scholarship
APTA Indiana is pleased to provide one $500 PTA Student Scholarship and attendance at the APTA Indiana Fall Conference or Student Conclave for a PTA Student Member who attends an Indiana educational program.
A one-page minimum write-up describing your experience at the conference may be requested for Chapter publications.

Specialist Certification Scholarship
APTA Indiana is pleased to award two scholarships for members who plan to sit for their board certification exam. Each scholarship will total $500, with $350 awarded initially and then the remaining $150 awarded after passage of the exam.

Team Rehab Student PT Scholarship
These scholarships are intended to reward and encourage physical therapy (PT) students who are already demonstrating potential to be outstanding practicing clinicians. One scholarship will be awarded per program to a PT Student starting their third year at each Indiana school with a PT program.
Applications will be completed in the second year of the program. Recipients of these scholarships will each be awarded a stipend of $2,000 which will be distributed in one payment at the APTA Indiana Fall Conference Awards Banquet of the student’s final fall semester in physical therapy school.

PTA Advanced Proficiency Pathway Scholarship
APTA Indiana is pleased to award two scholarships for PTA Members who plan to pursue their Advanced Proficiency. Each scholarship will total $270, with $135 awarded initially upon acceptance and then the remaining $135 awarded after successful completion. Recipients have one year to complete the program to receive the final funds.
Award Criteria:
It is required that applicants are IN Chapter members throughout the duration of the process to obtain all scholarship funds.
Awardees will be selected on the basis of:
- Proof of IN licensure
- Proof of minimum of 2 years of APTA membership
- Proof of completion of pre-course requirements
- Copy of enrollment application with proof of acceptance
- Essay response related to how the advance proficiency pathway will impact your practice and professional development.
To apply, assemble a packet containing the following information:
- Completed Scholarship Application
- Copy of IN license or other verification
- Copy of APTA membership card or other membership verification
- Copy of proof of completion of pre-course requirements
- Essay answering the question: “How do you foresee a specialist certification impacting your practice and professional development?” This essay should be a maximum of two double-spaced pages in at least 10-point type.
