President’s Message (Jan, 2024)

A Message From the President – January 16, 2024

I hope you were able to take some time over the holiday season to reflect on the important events of the year. Perhaps you decided to make a resolution for 2024. Please consider resolving to say “yes”. Say “yes” to helping us grow and strengthen APTA Indiana! We have many volunteer opportunities. You might be new to the Chapter or concerned that you haven’t done something like this before. No worries. Say “yes”! We are here to help and we need you. We need your voice for legislative initiatives like Practice and Payment Reform. We are currently working on legislation to reduce prior authorization burdens. Consider contacting your State Representative or Senator about the importance of reducing burdens to accessing physical therapy services.

APTA Indiana has two vacant committee positions and we need your help.

  • Public Relations Committee Chair
  • John Kiesel is the outgoing Public Relations Committee Chair and has been the Chair for many years. Thank you, John, for your years of service in this role.
  • Now, we need you to say “yes” and volunteer to serve as the Public Relations Committee Chair. The current members of the Committee are happy to assist.
  • Political Action Committee (PAC) Chair
  • Brad Shupe has done an amazing job as our Political Action Committee Chair for over a decade. Thank you, Brad, for your many years of service leading the APTA Indiana PAC.
  • Now, we need you to say “yes” to lead this important Committee.

In closing, may you have a happy, healthy, and fruitful 2024! Take care of yourself, so you can be there for your patients. And resolve to say YES!

Kind Regards and Happy New Year!
